Beloved brothers and sisters in Christ,
In the aftermath of a devastating super typhoon that struck the Mariana Islands, many families throughout the region are now facing tremendous hardship. Entire communities remain without electricity and clean water, stores and fuel supplies are strained, and many are struggling simply to obtain the basic necessities of daily life. Some families are sleeping in their vehicles, while others are going without regular meals.
Among those affected is our own parish family at the Holy Virgin of Vladimir Orthodox Church in Saipan, the first Orthodox Christian church established in the Northern Mariana Islands. Even while enduring these hardships themselves, our faithful there are working tirelessly to organize relief efforts and assist those in desperate need throughout the islands.
Yet even in moments such as these, the light of Christ shines brightly.
The Orthodox Church has always answered suffering not merely with words, but with sacrificial love, mercy, and action. As Orthodox Christians, we are called to bear one another’s burdens and to become the hands and feet of Christ for those who are afflicted.
At this time, members of our small Orthodox community are coordinating relief voyages and emergency aid efforts to bring food, water, fuel, and essential supplies to those impacted across the Mariana Islands. These efforts are urgent, and they require the support of faithful Orthodox Christians and all people of goodwill.
We humbly ask for your prayers and support.
Even the smallest offering, given with love, becomes a great blessing in the hands of God.
As our Lord Jesus Christ teaches us:
“Whatever you did for one of the least of these My brethren, you did for Me.”
Please remember the suffering people of the Mariana Islands in your prayers, and if you are able, consider supporting this relief effort.

May the Lord bless all those who give, pray, and labor for their neighbor, and may the Most Holy Theotokos spread her protecting veil over all those suffering in the Mariana Islands.
With love in the Risen Christ,
